Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Group Manager in the Tampa or Clearwater area. You will lead mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design efforts while developing new clients and ensuring high-quality service and project execution.

The role combines technical design leadership with business development, requiring 8+ years in mechanical design and PE licensure. Travel and client interaction are expected as part of growing market share.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with PE registration or ability to quickly acquire FL PE through reciprocity.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and HVAC system analysis.
• Leadership and business development talents to grow the business and expand market share.
• Must be able to work as part of a project team.
• Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments.
• Technically competent, a team player and good communications ability.
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and design services for mechanical projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.
• Developing new clients as well as delivering responsive, high-quality service to all clients through operational excellence.
• Prepare proposals and makes presentations to clients.
• Responsible for allocation of resources, manpower balancing and assignment to projects and, the timeliness, quality and adherence to established budgets for the group's projects.
• Interacting with clients, conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare reports, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications and submit permits for mechanical engineering projects.
• Identifying, recruiting and developing new regional team members including managers, engineers, production staff and administrative staff as needed.
• Functions as Project Manager when required.
• Collaborating across McKim & Creed to sell and deliver company-wide services.

OVERVIEW:

We currently have a Mechanical Group Manager opportunity within our Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) division within our Tampa or Clearwater office. This is a step up from a Project Manager for someone wanting to take the next step in their career. In this role, not only will you provide technical and design services for mechanical (MEP) projects, but you will also be developing new clients as well as delivering responsive, high-quality service to all clients through operational excellence.

During Your Work‑day, You Will

What You’ll Need
