McKim & Creed, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to head electrical design of power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecom systems for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities. You will guide a multi-disciplinary project team, review equipment and control systems, and ensure designs meet schedule and budget.

Ideal candidates have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years of experience, and a PA PE or reciprocity ability.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• PA PE or ability to acquire via reciprocity in PA.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical ability and keen interest in technology.
• Good communication skills and self-starter mindset.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecom designs for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities.
• Serve as the lead electrical engineer on multi-discipline teams and coordinate with project managers and clients.
• Direct technical evaluations of electrical equipment/systems and prepare design computations.
• Complete electrical design tasks within budget and schedule.
• Communicate technical evaluations and designs, and write reports for stakeholders.
• Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations.
• Develop new work and client opportunities related to electrical engineering services.

OVERVIEW: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Building, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group in Pittsburgh, PA. This person will serve as the lead electrical engineer and provides technical and design services in support of projects as part of a multi-discipline project team. You will direct and conduct technical evaluations of electrical equipment/systems, control systems, and prepare design computations and assessments. You will also be able to develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities. During Your Work-Day, You Will:

• This person is a technical expert in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.
• This person serves as the lead electrical engineer and provides technical and design services in support of projects as part of a multi-discipline project team.
• They will direct and conduct technical evaluations of electrical equipment/systems, control systems, and prepare design computations and assessments.
• Be responsible for completing electrical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule.
• Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as with a Project Manager and representatives of the client organization to complete work efficiently.
• Must stay current with local, state & federal design standards and regulations.
• In addition, this person will have opportunity and responsibility to develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.

What You’ll Need:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• A PA PE or ability to acquire a PE quickly through reciprocity in PA
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• High technical ability, interested in technology and staying current in his field.
• Good ability to communicate and a self-starter.
• Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
