Job summary

System One is seeking a Project Engineer with commercial mechanical construction and plumbing experience to support Project Management on site in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on coordinating construction projects, tracking costs and schedules, handling submittals and change orders, and ensuring safe, compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 0-2 years related experience.
• Organizational skills to coordinate construction tasks.
• Ability to oversee projects and employees.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager in reviewing proposals and plans to define time frames, funding, and resources.
• Set up the project with Pre-Construction.
• Prepare job cost breakdowns and schedule of values.
• Attend pre-construction and turnover meetings.
• Devise project work plans with the PM and define scope.
• Coordinate activities to ensure quality of work.
• Review status reports and adjust schedules and budgets.
• Prepare project reports for supervision.
• Prepare submittals and track status.
• Review labor reports and update WIPs.
• Monitor equipment and tools on projects.
• Attend monthly project reviews and adjust as needed.
• Work with Superintendents.
• Attend close-out meetings.
• Assist with problem resolution.
• Prepare and file purchase orders.
• Coordinate permits and related fees.
• Coordinate fabrications planning.
• Ensure communication between departments.
• Maintain morale across departments.
• Enforce client rules and procedures.
• Perform miscellaneous duties.
