Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a capable MEP Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial construction projects. This role requires on-site presence in Baltimore, MD and Waynesboro, PA, with travel between sites.

Ideal candidates have a strong technical background, excellent communication, and a proactive problem-solving mindset in a fast-paced environment. Government security eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related).
• Strong understanding of cooling, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building codes.
• Proficiency with construction docs, submittals, and project workflows.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SolidWorks and MS Project preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project operations.
• Coordinate MEP activities with subcontractors, design teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Track RFIs, change orders, and field directives.
• Provide engineering support for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Conduct field inspections to verify installation quality and adherence to design intent.
• Identify constructability issues and propose solutions early in the lifecycle.
• Support commissioning, testing, and turnover activities.
• Maintain project documentation, logs, and progress reports.
