Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to support commercial mechanical projects across HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes. You will coordinate with field and office teams and track documentation from coordination through closeout.

Ideal candidates have mechanical construction experience and an eye for detail, with strong communication and organization. Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, and MS Project experience are helpful, with a path toward larger project

Qualifications

  • Mechanical construction experience preferred.
  • HVAC, piping, or plumbing project exposure.
  • Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or strong internship background.
  • Commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, semiconductor, mission critical, or large tenant improvement experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read drawings and understand construction documents.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar construction tools is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Project Managers and Superintendents on active mechanical construction projects.
  • Tracking RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, field teams, and internal project teams.
  • Assisting with schedule updates, material tracking, cost tracking, and project closeout.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Helping identify issues early and keeping information moving between the field and office.
  • Learning the operational side of mechanical construction with a path toward larger project responsibility.

Mechanical Project Engineer Opportunity | Phoenix, AZ

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in mechanical construction and continue developing toward an Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager path.

The role will support commercial mechanical projects across HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes. The right person will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with field and office teams, and interested in learning how projects are run from coordination through closeout.

What the role will involve
