Responsibilities

  • Develop equipment lists from validated P&IDs.
  • Perform heat/mass balances and sizing calculations for liquid-processing projects.
  • Support RFQs, supplier selection, and technical bid comparisons.
  • Coordinate procurement, fabrication, installation, and field execution.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the engineering and execution of liquid-processing projects across the food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and brewing industries. This role combines process engineering and project execution, supporting projects from P&IDs and equipment selection through procurement, fabrication, installation, and field execution.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with process equipment, piping, technical calculations, vendors, contractors, and hygienic/sanitary process systems.

Job Duties:

  • Complete engineering activities by organizing and controlling project elements.
  • Develop equipment lists from validated P&IDs.
  • Perform technical calculations and equipment sizing for liquid-processing projects.
  • Perform heat and mass balances and calculate/verify pump and piping sizing.
  • Develop equipment and technical specifications and support RFQs, technical offer analysis, and supplier selection.
  • Manage purchase-order requisitions and support Supply Chain with supplier follow-up.
  • Support design reviews including P&IDs, drawings, and 3D models.
  • Manage and perform material control at receipt.
  • Support project delivery within budget, specification, and schedule requirements.
  • Prepare technical bid packages for mechanical installation of process equipment, platforms, pipe racks, piping, and related industrial components.
  • Support contractor bid distribution, technical alignment, contractor recommendations, and bid awards.
  • Coordinate onsite contractors with customer representatives, including safety, construction, and production stakeholders.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with scope and quality requirements and support non-conformance reporting and corrective actions.
  • Support field installation, commissioning, startup, and other project execution activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Processing, Agricultural, Biological, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2–3+ years of relevant Project Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar engineering experience.
  • Experience within Food & Beverage, Dairy, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Brewing, or another hygienic/sanitary process environment.
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs and process equipment.
  • Ability to perform technical calculations including heat and mass balances, pump sizing, and piping sizing.
  • Experience with process equipment such as tanks, pumps, piping, valves, skids, and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to work in the field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.

Preferred Experience:

  • Liquid processing systems and hygienic/sanitary process design.
  • Food or dairy processing.
  • Sanitary piping and process systems.
  • Process equipment and skid design.
  • Supplier RFQs, technical bid comparisons, procurement, and material control.
  • Mechanical installation bid packages and contractor coordination.
  • Field installation, construction coordination, commissioning, or startup exposure.
