Job summary

Selectek in Alexandria, MN seeks a Project Engineer to support land development projects through planning, design, permitting and construction administration. You will design subdivisions, grading, drainage, and utilities using Civil 3D and related tools, while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate cost data.

You will collaborate with project managers, clients, and municipalities; mentor junior staff; and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
3+ years of civil engineering experience in commercial, retail, and residential site development.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D Stormwater modeling software (HydroCAD, Hydraflow, PondPack, or similar) Microsoft Office Suite
Experience preparing grading, drainage, utility, and site layout plans.
Knowledge of municipal development regulations and permitting processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Routinely produces accurate and actionable professional design of subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork volumes and storm drainage calculations.
Designs utilities including storm and sanitary sewers, paving, watermain, waterlines, waterline sizing, and street improvements.
Uses Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSlamm, and other software for design and analysis.
Prepares opinions of cost, quantities, periodic reports, pay estimates, and data for final payment.
Attends meetings with Sr. Project Manager and clients; assists in project proposals and scope decisions.
Mentors junior staff, performs QA/QC of designs, and supports project profitability.
