Job summary

Selectek is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer in Minnesota to design subdivisions, grading plans, and stormwater systems. You will apply Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and other tools to prepare plans, estimates, and reports, while coordinating with clients and authorities.

Requirements include a Bachelors in Civil Engineering, PE license, 3+ years of site development experience, and strong communication skills. Minnesota licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience in commercial, retail, and residential site development.
• Proficiency with: AutoCAD Civil 3D Stormwater modeling software (HydroCAD, Hydraflow, PondPack, or similar) Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience preparing grading, drainage, utility, and site layout plans.
• Knowledge of municipal development regulations and permitting processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Routinely produces accurate site design for subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork, and storm drainage.
• Design utilities including storm/sewer, paving, water mains, and street improvements.
• Uses Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSlamm for design and calculations.
• Prepare cost estimates, pay estimates, and data for final payments.
• Attend project meetings with Sr. Project Manager and client authorities.
• Assist Sr. Project Engineers with scope, fees, and additional service requests.
• Mentor junior staff and review designs for QA/QC.
• Lead task delegation and track project scope for profitability.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Routinely produces accurate and actionable professional design of subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork volumes and storm drainage calculations, design of utilities, including storm and sanitary sewers, paving, watermain, waterlines, waterline sizing, and street improvements. Proficiently utilizes Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSlamm, and other applicable software programs for design application, analyzation, and preparation. Researches and applies code requirements and standard design procedure manuals. Completes and verifies design computations/calculations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations. Prepares opinions of cost, quantities, periodic reports, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment. Attends internal project team and external client/jurisdictional authorities’ meetings with a Sr. Project Manager Assists SR. Project Engineers in preparing project proposal scope, fees, and additional service requests. Assist Sr. Project Team members to track project scope and support project profitability by assisting and managing internal project team members time and task delegation. Lead staff through task delegation and oversight of project work including preparing quantity take-offs, bid tabs, opinion of probable cost estimates and other related bidding documents. Provides mentorship, technical assistance, training, and oversight to peers/junior staff engineers as needed. Performs peer-to-peer QA/QC of design plans, calculations, storm water management design and documents as a cursory review during formal QA/QC process. Effectively and respectfully communicates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project.

Required

Valid Licensure: Professional Engineer Minnesota Must have Valid Driver’s License.
