Job summary

ITW Global Tire Repair is offering a Project Engineer Intern role to support New Product Development, focusing on technical documentation, product research, and system improvements at our San Luis Obispo, CA office.

You'll gain hands-on experience across the product development lifecycle, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to meaningful process enhancements during Summer 2026, working about 15-20 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the technical library, ensuring documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Upload, organize, and audit specification sheets and technical documents; remove outdated content and identify gaps.
• Conduct competitive product research and support early-stage ideation and product development initiatives.
• Assist in evaluating new product concepts, materials, and opportunities for innovation.
• Identify and implement improvements to NPD systems and workflows, including updating internal training and education materials.
