Job summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for 2027, with options for a summer internship May–August or a Spring Co‑op Jan–Aug, or a Fall Co‑op May–Dec. You will assist the project team in completing designated projects while learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan policies.

As an intern you will gain exposure to budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders, and you will develop an understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management within 18 months of graduation.
  • Available to work 40 hours/week for at least three months.
  • Familiar with estimating techniques and cost control methods.
  • Able to read contracts, specifications and drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job description

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Engineer Intern.

This position is available in 2027 as a summer internship running from May–August, or a Spring Co‑op running from January–August, or a Fall Co‑op running from May–December.

As a Project Engineer Intern, you will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.

What you will do
  • Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
  • Develop a first‑hand understanding of job‑site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or a closely related field and within 18 months of graduating.
  • Be able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three‑month term.
  • Have a general knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
  • Have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Possess the ability to read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Communicate clearly orally and in writing.
