Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Engineer to help track costs, monitor resources, and support project controls on the Susquehanna River Rail Bridge mega project in Maryland. You will collaborate with engineers and field crews to review schedules, quantities, and RFI management, ensuring on‑budget, on‑time delivery for a $1.7B infrastructure effort.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years construction engineering experience.
  • Experience with resource monitoring techniques (cost accounting, basic estimating).
  • Specialized knowledge of design-build or other alternative build techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
  • Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
  • Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
  • Identify risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track project performance.
  • Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and notify of significant schedule changes.
  • Initiate and manage RFIs.
  • Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding for reporting.
  • Manage invoicing with accounting for materials, equipment and subcontractors.
  • Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews.
