Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a trainee to assist the project team with learning Ryan processes, policies, and field and office operations on a construction project site. The role includes working from site for at least six months and potentially the entire project duration.

You will generate RFIs, track approvals, manage the shop drawing log, and learn dimensional control while verifying dimensions. Additional duties include coordinating deliveries, safety procedures, and participating in

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project team in completing designated projects while learning Ryan processes and policies.
  • Learn field and office operations on a construction project site for 6 months or the duration of the project.
  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Learn dimensional control requirements and verify dimensions against shop drawings.
  • Assist in coordinating vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand site logistics and participate in permit inspection processes.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Attend Punchlist inspections with Ryan personnel and Owner, record items and monitor completion.
  • Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule.

Job Description:

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some things you can expect to do:
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
