Job summary

Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking talented Project Engineers to join the Project Management Department in Houston, TX. This role focuses on supporting senior management in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination across disciplines for multi-industry projects, with emphasis on process industries.

Ideal candidates have 5–12 years in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, or Renewable Energy, and experience with overseas centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• 5–12 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, and/or Renewable Energy sectors.
• Experience as a Project Engineer preferred; otherwise discipline experience is necessary.
• Experience with overseas HVE centers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for intra- and inter-discipline coordination, and with clients and vendors.
• Organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Project Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling project aspects, including schedules and budgets.
• Implement assignments from the Senior Project Manager or a Project Director.
• Define work scope and prepare schedules and budgets for small projects; update as needed.
• Assist in cost estimates for additional work or contract modifications.
• Coordinate discipline engineering activities for deliverables development.
• Review drawings for consistency with scope and input from disciplines.
• Coordinate engineering and design efforts with overseas HVE centers.
• Support quality control procedures for deliverables generation and distribution.
• Ensure field trip reports and meeting minutes are accurate and timely.
• Review reports for contractual consistency and distribute correspondence to project members.
• Monitor work hours and report Engineering Change Notices to Senior Project Manager.
• Prepare progress reports and assist in scheduling engineering activities.
• Evaluate staff expenditures and implement corrective actions for overall performance.
