Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Engineer II in Denver, CO to coordinate with field staff, review plans, and resolve coordination issues across the project team. You will manage subcontractor coordination, QA/QC processes, submittals, and project closeout procedures.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management and at least three years of construction experience; strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills are

• Minimum of three years related construction experience.
• Detail orientation and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Understanding of construction law and standard business practices.

• Positive professional attitude and customer service skills.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan and manage testing and inspection processes.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses.
• Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, and Non-Conformance Report.
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents; establish handling procedures for electronic documents.
• Manage submittals: set up register, obtain approvals, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate packaging, review, and processing.
• Expedite submittals to align with project schedule; communicate submittal process details to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Incorporate processes for project closeout; post revisions and updates to as-built documents.
• Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers; determine alternative work methods as needed.
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members; maintain schedule of timelines and ensure completion.
