Job summary

HC Company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our commercial construction team in Boise. This role pairs ownership of project controls with mentorship of junior staff, collaborating with PMs, superintendents, and subcontractors to move projects from preconstruction through closeout.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in project engineering on commercial projects, a construction degree, and proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam. ESOP culture supports long-term growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Engineer or comparable commercial construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, drawings, and change management.
• Experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Own RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, and closeout activities.
• Review drawings and specs to identify gaps and constructability issues.
• Coordinate with PMs, superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners to resolve issues.
• Support buyout, contracting, change management, and material procurement.
• Track long-lead items and critical schedule activities.
• Participate in project, subcontractor, pre-installation, and coordination meetings.
• Support field operations through drawing interpretation and issue resolution.
• Participate in QA/QC and site safety efforts.
• Maintain project information using Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
• Mentor and support less-experienced team members.
