Job summary

HC Company Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our commercial construction team. This is not an entry-level role; you will own key project controls and drive projects from preconstruction through closeout, collaborating with PMs and Superintendents on healthcare, veterinary, education, industrial, and retail projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Engineer or related commercial construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, procurement, change management, and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, project documentation, and closeout activities.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals to identify scope gaps and constructability issues.
• Coordinate with PMs, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners to resolve issues.
• Support subcontractor buyout, contracting, change management, cost tracking, and material procurement.
• Track long-lead materials and critical project activities to support schedule commitments.
• Participate in project, subcontractor, pre-installation, and coordination meetings.
• Support field operations through drawing interpretation and issue resolution.
• Participate in QA/QC and site safety efforts to meet project requirements.
• Maintain accurate project information using Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Identify issues early, develop solutions, and communicate impacts to the team.
• Mentor and support less-experienced team members.
