Leonardo DRS is seeking a Project Engineer to lead challenging technical projects bridging engineering and management. You will guide system-level design, engineering analyses, and provide robust solutions that meet customer needs.

The role involves leading 5-10+ engineers, planning execution, and engaging with US Navy customers and suppliers in a matrix organization. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years as individual contributor.
• 3+ years in engineering leadership driving product development and design.
• Experience with system-level thinking and engineering methods.
• Experience coordinating large, multi-discipline projects with clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive detailed technical work scope for large system design & development projects.
• Contribute direct technical input and leadership to project execution.
• Bridge engineering activities with other functions to ensure overall success.
• Organize issues into workable plans and define detailed project plans.
• Develop pre-contract estimates and robust basis of estimates.
• Support reviews, risk management, and resource planning for engineering efforts.
• Communicate technical status clearly to customers, suppliers, and leadership.
