Job summary

MEC is seeking a Project Engineer to support electrical construction activities in the New York area. You will plan, organize, and implement processes to manage information, KPIs, and project controls, providing project support to a Project Manager and leading technical staff.

You will develop plans, track submittals, and maintain document controls while coordinating with design teams and contractors to ensure schedule fidelity and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in construction or engineering field.
• Proven leadership, communication, planning, and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to lead safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Strong team leadership and project engineering management skills.
• Knowledge of project control systems including accounts payable, materials control, estimating, subcontracts.

Responsibilities

• Understand contract plans and specifications.
• Resolve design/construction issues with design team, project leadership, client, and contractors.
• Ensure all project engineering activities comply with requirements and support the project schedule.
• Create and manage a contract execution plan.
• Provide technical support for construction including design interpretation and constructability reviews.
• Develop and administer document control for design documents; keep on-site docs current.
• Maintain official project log and submittal tracking.
• Represent the company in design reviews and coordination meetings; assist with reports.
• Assist leadership with scopes of work for subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Oversee master schedule updates with input from project team.
• Oversee Contract Administration and change review processes.
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Support EHS programs at the project level; promote safety.
• Manage and support the project team and closeout plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
