Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) seeks an Engineer II to plan, organize and implement project engineering and controls tasks.

Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential as you work with field crews and a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic infrastructure setting. You will assist in field and office engineering, estimating and project controls, while traveling and relocating as needed to support projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' construction field experience.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related.
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations from measurements and determine completed materials.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevation and control points.
• Support daily labor timesheets and JHA preparation.
• Assist with purchasing orders, subcontracts, and cost reviews.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
• Assist in estimating tasks like plan/spec reviews and material takeoffs.
