Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Engineer or higher to join our New York Highways & Traffic Engineering team. The role focuses on NY infrastructure projects and supplemental projects in CT, western MA, and VT.

You will contribute to conceptual planning, alignment studies, and contract documents for local and interstate highways, supporting design, QA/QC, and client coordination. A Bachelor's in civil engineering and EIT certification are required, with PE eligibility preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• 5+ years infrastructure engineering design experience preferred (drainage a plus).
• EIT certification is required; PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads Designer, and/or Civil 3D is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for communications and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to highway/roadway projects and support bridge, rail, and water resources disciplines as needed.
• Lead design development and create plans, specifications, estimates, calculations, design reports, and construction documents.
• Design roadway elements including roundabouts, traffic signals, interchanges, and other highway infrastructure.
• Perform QA/QC on work products and coordinate with drafters and other engineers.
