Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks a Project Engineer for the Highway/Traffic group in Newark, NJ, or Wall, NJ. You will prepare roadway design plans, specs, and cost estimates, and coordinate with civil/site, traffic, structural, and environmental teams to deliver projects on time.

The role requires 4–8 years of highway design experience, a NJ PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 4–8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience.
  • PE license in New Jersey or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience on county/municipal projects, including state/federal funding.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation; OpenRoads a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO and NJDOT roadway design standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
