Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks a Staff Engineer for our Highway/Traffic Department in Wall, NJ. The role centers on designing roadway and traffic plans, producing analyses, and delivering technical documents across disciplines.

Responsibilities include supporting traffic studies, data collection, and client coordination. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Synchro, and HCS is preferred; a Civil Engineering degree and EIT eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year is preferred.
• Familiarity with NJDOT, AASHTO, and MUTCD standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and preparation of roadway and traffic engineering plans, including alignments, profiles, signage, striping, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Support traffic engineering studies such as traffic impact studies, signal warrant analyses, and capacity analysis.
• Perform data collection and analysis, including traffic counts and field observations.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and supporting documentation.
• Utilize design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Synchro, and/or HCS.
• Coordinate with internal team members across multiple disciplines.
• Attend project meetings and assist with client coordination as needed.
• Support construction phase services, including shop drawing review and field inspections.

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Staff Engineer for our Highway/Traffic Department in Wall, NJ.

• Experience with design and analysis software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Synchro, HCS, etc.) preferred


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $77,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
