Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, seeks a Project Engineer - High Voltage to support renewables and power delivery projects on-site across Midwest regions.

You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors and clients to ensure project documentation, QA/QC, scheduling and field operations are completed in accordance with contract requirements.

The role offers travel with rotation, per diem and a path for growth within MasTec CE&I.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 2 years of Civil, Electrical or Industrial Construction experience required.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong organizational and QA/QC capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare scheduling of subcontractors on site.
  • Receive and check material quality and records.
  • Complete QA/QC checklists and submittals.
  • Handle RFIs and official project documentation routing.
  • Prepare project reports and close-out quantities.
  • Assist with extra work proposals and negotiations.
  • Support project management with special assignments.

Overview

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineers to support assigned renewables and power delivery projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project documentation, quality control, scheduling, and field operations are completed efficiently and in accordance with contract requirements.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, and is passionate about delivering quality projects while maintaining strong communication across project teams.

Travel & Project Assignment: You can live in any city or state in the continental United States. This is an on-site position which may encompass a work site primarily in the Midwest, but may include Eastern and Western states. Must be capable of working on-site for 3 weeks with a four-day rotation. We offer designated per diem of $1,020 per week in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses during the travel rotation. You must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for the assigned work location.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing scheduling of subcontractors on site
  • Receiving and checking quality of materials
  • Completing QA/QC checklists
  • Submittals (material approvals)
  • RFI's (general questions)
  • Preparing official documents for the project, routing and finalizing
  • Preparing projects reports as needed
  • Back up documentation
  • Close-outs final quantities
  • Proposing/ negotiation extra work
  • Special projects within the Project Management function as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Management Department
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Civil Engineers, Construction Management, or related field preferred); High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of experience in Civil, Electrical or Industrial Construction is required
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
