Job summary

Ash Grove Cement is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee plant overhauls and capital projects across the North American network. The role emphasizes safety, budget and schedule management, field inspections, and collaboration with construction teams and management.

You will develop start-up and maintenance procedures, review contractor work, and support training on project-management tools. PE preferred; travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, mining, electronic instrumentation and technology or related field
• Pro Engineering (PE) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in heavy construction or process industry
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and work quality.
• Conduct field inspections on job sites and report progress.
• Assist development of construction, start-up, and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure contractors comply with health, safety, and project requirements.
• Review designs, quotations, and drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
• Assist in training on standard software for project management processes.
• Interact with construction workers and management to resolve issues.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
