Job summary

You will manage RFIs/submittals, assist with field coordination and cost tracking, and ensure FDOT-compliant documentation. A Civil Eng or related degree, 2+ years of experience, and DOT/FDOT familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering in heavy-civil / heavy-highway construction.
• FDOT roadway project experience or comparable DOT roadway exposure.
• Ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.
• Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs and submittals — coordinate between designers, owner and subcontractors.
• Support the Superintendent in the field on material tracking, subcontractor scheduling, and daily sequencing.
• Help track quantities, pay estimates, and project costs.
• Review plans and specs to catch conflicts and constructability issues early.
• Keep documentation and daily reports aligned to FDOT standards.
• Support scheduling, look-ahead planning, and change-order documentation.
