H.T. Prof Executive Search partners with a leading Florida heavy-civil contractor to fill a Project Engineer – FDOT role in Naples.

This direct-hire, full-time position offers mentorship, a strong project backlog, and clear room to advance in heavy-highway construction. You will manage RFIs and submittals, support field scheduling and quantity tracking, review plans for constructability, and maintain FDOT-compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering in heavy-civil / heavy-highway construction.
• A heavy-civil / FDOT roadway background (or comparable DOT roadway experience).
• Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent field experience.
• The ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs and submittals — keep information moving between designers, the owner, and subcontractors.
• Support the Superintendent in the field on material tracking, subcontractor scheduling, and daily sequencing.
• Help track quantities, pay estimates, and project costs.
• Review plans and specs to catch conflicts and constructability issues early.
• Keep documentation, daily reports, and records aligned to FDOT standards.
• Support scheduling, look-ahead planning, and change-order documentation.
