Job summary

Kinkaid Civil Construction, LLC in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team. This role supports projects from pre-construction through closeout, working with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and owners to meet safety, schedule, and budget targets.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in heavy civil construction within an employee‑owned company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• 1–3 years in heavy civil construction or related field preferred.
• Understanding of plans, specs, and project docs.
• Experience reviewing plans for constructability preferred.
• EIT/FE certification preferred or ability to obtain; PE licensure a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management.
• Driver's license with valid driving record; able to travel in the Greater Phoenix area.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; CM software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with daily administration of heavy civil projects.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Coordinate project correspondence with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Route contracts for internal and external signatures; maintain contract files.
• Coordinate procurement of bonds and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Prepare and distribute submittal packages; track approvals and logs.
• Distribute updated drawings and verify field use of latest docs.
