Job description

The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy highway and civil construction projects at Ames Construction to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements. This role works closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and inspectors to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, and other civil structures.**Key Responsibilities**Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals **Qualifications** Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedulesTravel between job sites may be required depending on project location. *People are the most important asset at Ames Construction.
