Job summary

Ames Construction in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Engineer to support large-scale heavy civil projects such as highways, bridges, and utilities. You will assist project managers and supers with daily operations and help manage schedules and documentation.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field, with internship experience preferred, and strong communication and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Primavera P6 are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Track project progress, prepare reports, and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Support quality control and safety compliance on job sites.
• Assist in cost tracking, budgeting, and schedule updates.
• Participate in problem-solving and provide technical support during construction activities.
