Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer for our heavy civil/highway projects in Phoenix. You will support planning, procurement, scheduling, cost control, and documentation across the project lifecycle from start to close-out.

The ideal candidate has hands-on project engineering experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and familiarity with CMAR and wet utilities. We offer a competitive base salary, bonus, benefits, 401(k) matching, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or comparable.
• Experience with CMAR and wet utilities is preferred.
• Strong coordination of documents and change management.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: procurement and expediting, assist in work planning and mentoring staff.
• Maintain and update project schedule and costing system.
• Cost control: inventory tracking of equipment and resources.
• Document controls: review drawings, specs, changes; manage change requests.
• Subcontract management: define scope, write subcontracts, monitor progress.
• Project administration: track progress claims and estimates.

Job Details

As a Project Engineer your role is:

• Project Planning & Execution: Material procurement and expediting, assistance in work planning for self-perform and work activities, oversight and mentoring of engineering staff, Project close-out: involved in coordinating of documentation - deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments
• Schedule: Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system

Project Cost Control: Inventory control - monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources, labor productivity monitoring for self-perform work activities

• Project Document Controls & Procedures: Coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control, Change management - responsible for set-up, issuing documentation, pricing and change administration
• Subcontract Management: Subcontract administration - defining scope of work, writing subcontracts, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing back charges
• Project Administration: Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates
