Job summary

Horizon, a Midwest multifamily builder, is hiring a Project Engineer in Madison, Wisconsin. You will support high-impact projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating information flow, RFIs, submittals, drawings, schedules, budgets, and safety standards.

This role offers an employee-first culture, mentoring, and a clear path to a Project Manager role, with opportunities to work across multiple product types and markets.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities independently with project teams.
• Procore and scheduling tools experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction documents and perform accurate calculations.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning by reviewing requirements and coordinating schedules.
• Help manage drawings, document control, and permitting workflows.
• Assist with bid solicitation, scope review, and contract document prep.
• Monitor project schedules and support quality walks/inspections.
• Attend project meetings and document actions and minutes.
• Support project cost management: budgets, forecasts, invoices, change orders.
• Assist field quality audits, punch list, safety planning, and site compliance.
• Maintain current project plans and drawing sets in PM software.
