Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking an engineer to join the Delaware Basin Gas Plants team in the United States. This role focuses on project execution, operations support, PSM compliance, and facility optimization to maximize safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include developing scopes of work, sizing equipment, and preparing PFDs/P&IDs while performing process simulations with PROMAX to support optimization efforts. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is required.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of experience as project engineer and/or process engineer in natural gas plants.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to operations including troubleshooting, debottlenecking and optimization, PSM compliance, and DOT compliance.
  • Develop scope of work/for-bid packages for engineering, construction, and commissioning activities and track costs and milestones.
  • Size and specify mechanical equipment and piping, select appropriate materials and valves, and review pressure-relief devices.
  • Interpret and design PFDs, P&IDs, Plot Plans, and Isometrics; develop process simulations and energy balances in PROMAX.
  • Coordinate with safety, environmental, operations, construction and contractors to complete projects through lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with codes (API, ASME) and company design/construction standards and drive continuous improvement.
