Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an onsite Construction Engineer to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Heavy Highway and bridge projects.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, at least four years of related experience, and strong communication skills. Bridge experience is a strong plus; PE registration is preferred but not required; Kokosing offers a competitive benefits package

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• (4)+ years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Bridge experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including planning, assignments, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for construction efforts including planning, design interpretation, methods, and resolving design conflicts.
• Develop and administer project engineering procedures and documents (submittals, RFIs, expediting material deliveries, subcontractor/vendor payments, Owner pay requests).
• Represent company, project and/or department in meetings with A/E, clients and project management.
• Interface on-site departments to resolve problems and maintain schedule.
• Oversee pre-construction services, design-build services, and business development for the project.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
