Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for heavy highway and bridge projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 5+ years of related experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Bridge experience is a plus, PE registration is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 5+ years of similar construction engineering experience is preferred.
• Bridge experience is a strong plus; PE registration is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for heavy highway and bridge projects.
• Oversee project engineering personnel, assignments, and administration.
• Ensure activities comply with contract requirements and support the construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support in planning, design interpretation, and resolution of design conflicts.
• Develop and administer project engineering procedures and control documents (submittals, RFIs, expediting deliveries, subcontractor/pay requests).
• Represent company in meetings with A/E, client, and project management; interface with on-site departments to resolve issues and support schedule.
