Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, execute, and finalize engineering projects in the food/chemical processing sector. You will ensure designs meet customer specs and budgets, coordinating internal teams and third-party contractors to deliver milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Food Science Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of engineering experience in process equipment.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office (Word/Excel) and MS Project.
• Ability to travel up to 40% and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure system design complies with customer specifications and company standards.
• Size and specify system components for procurement.
• Develop full-scale project plans with milestones and deliverables.
• Draft and submit purchasing requisitions for project items.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
• Review drawings for accuracy before passing to customer.
• Identify dependencies and critical path for projects.
• Manage scope changes and devise contingency plans.
• Oversee system installation, commissioning and related documentation.
• Conduct project post mortems and prepare recommendations report.
