Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer for Anchorage, AK to oversee federal construction efforts (JBER). You will monitor safety, quality, and compliance while coordinating with government personnel and contractors.

You must have a bachelor’s in engineering or related field with 10+ years on large projects; US citizenship is required and a PE license is preferred. RMS experience and the ability to access military installations are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably USACE and/or Department of Defense.
  • Experience with vertical construction projects, including administrative buildings, barracks, and other facilities; working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction.
  • Current Professional Engineer license is preferred
  • Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process
  • Experience with EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and report on assigned projects to government personnel.
  • Oversee construction, contract administration, and QA activities per policies and regulations.
  • Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
  • Provide engineering determinations to meet contract requirements.
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs and construction deficiencies.
  • Assist in preparing documents for change orders and claims.
  • Review schedule items and pay applications for balance with work features.
  • Review contractor submittals including QA and Safety Plans.
  • Provide field surveillance and detailed daily reports.
  • Review drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing scope modifications and cost estimates.
  • Provide safety oversight.
