Job summary

Big-D Mission Critical in Reno, NV is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee the electrical scope on data center construction projects. You will coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and vendors to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

The role focuses on reviewing drawings, managing equipment startup and turnover packages, and contributing to quality control, change management, and client satisfaction on complex builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 1-5 years of experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, medium-voltage distribution, and power monitoring systems.

• Coordinate electrical subcontractors, vendors, and field activities.
• Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and electrical system designs.
• Track project schedules, procurement, and installation progress.
• Support quality control inspections and issue resolution.

Job description

Big-D Mission Critical is looking for a Project Engineer to focus on the electrical scope. The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, installation, commissioning, and turnover of electrical systems on mission-critical data center construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, trade partners, and commissioning teams, this role helps ensure electrical scopes are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and client requirements.

This position is based in Reno, NV.
