Job summary

A professional engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer-Electrical to provide engineering services on multiple federal projects in San Francisco. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in large building design, particularly with federal clients and low voltage systems. Responsibilities include site observation, contract administration, and providing technical support. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering; construction and contract administration experience.

  • Previous experience with US Army Corp of Engineers projects is a plus.

Job Title

Project Engineer – Electrical

Work Location

Anchorage, AK (JBER)

Salary

Based on experience; will be discussed with manager in interview.

Requirement

Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering services on several simultaneous federal projects ranging in value up to tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars in construction value.
  • Experience with large Federal Building Design, Medical Building Design and/or Construction Projects, or other similarly complex projects is desired. "Large" projects are defined as a construction value of at least $100 million or more.
  • Responsible for site observation and reporting on multiple assigned projects to government personnel.
  • Provide technical and administrative support.
  • Significant experience with low voltage systems preferred.
  • Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
  • Deliver recommendations to government personnel regarding compliance with contract provisions.
  • Review and interpret plans and specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders and claims.
  • Provide field surveillance and prepare detailed daily reports covering all pertinent factors affecting cost and engineering considerations.
  • Participate in pre-construction conferences with government personnel.
  • Emphasis on knowledge and experience with, but not limited to, Industrial/Laboratory building electrical systems (low voltage and high voltage), system controls, building automation, data centers, and other complex electrical-engineering related elements found in large and complex buildings and utility plants.
  • Previous experience with US Army Corp of Engineers projects is also viewed as a plus.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering, construction, and contract administration experience.
  • Experience on projects with government clients preferred.
  • US Army Corp of Engineering or USACE projects preferred.
  • Experience with large "campus" type project preferred.
  • Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred.
