Job summary

Montana-Dakota Utilities is seeking engineers at the I–III level to support electrical and natural gas distribution projects. You will apply basic to advanced engineering techniques, coordinate with field operations, and prepare feasibility studies and designs while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

The role involves interaction with regional teams, budget planning, and project management for multiple projects across the service territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical).
• Engineers I–III require foundational to advanced engineering knowledge.
• Training in engineering analysis programs and related tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains high/low pressure and distribution system models using data and software.
• Manages placement of recording devices and reviews system data for capacity monitoring.
• Prepares feasibility studies and design of distribution extensions with proper installation of equipment.
• Identifies system reinforcement needs to maintain service during peak demand.
• Provides designs, specs, support, cost estimates and project management for electric/natural gas projects.
