Project Engineer: Drive Scheduling & Field Coordination

Job summary

ZSG is seeking a Project Engineer to help keep information flowing so field teams stay productive, safe, and on schedule on active Minneapolis-area jobs. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, PEs, and trade partners, using Procore, Bluebeam, and standard Microsoft tools with mentorship and a culture built on safety and accountability.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and has 1–3 years of general-contractor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general-contractor project-engineer experience on multifamily, hospitality, or commercial work.
• Demonstrated ability to run RFI/submittal cycles and maintain accurate digital logs.
• Working knowledge of construction sequencing, contracts, and field coordination.
• Clear written and verbal communication with owners, architects, and trades.

Responsibilities

• Process RFIs and submittals so 95% close within contractual windows and field crews never wait on answers.
• Keep Procore logs, drawings, and as-builts current so the team always works from the latest information.
• Track extras, change orders, and quantities so the Project Manager has real-time cost visibility.
• Coordinate subcontractor questions and site issues daily to prevent rework and delays.
• Support weekly look-aheads and schedule updates that keep the critical path accurate.
