Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a Project Engineer to focus on diesel engine and generator set system and component design and test, supporting projects from proposal to commissioning at customer facilities. You will interface with customers, manage engineering deliverables, and coordinate with internal teams including purchasing, operations, and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, strong communication, CAD (SolidWorks) skills, and willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to interact with customers.

Responsabilités

• Be the primary technical interface with the customer.
• Lead development, release, and maintenance of engineering documents (system schematics, BOMs, test procedures, reports, etc.).
• Justify, document, and communicate engineering-based decisions to meet project goals and objectives.
• Complete engineering releases and changes through the PDM system and provide inputs to Design/Drafting for drawings.
• Meet with customers and suppliers to review contract status and resolve scope of work.
• Complete design & qualification work to replace obsolete components and to complete product improvements & cost reductions.
• Support engine production and test with problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Write and release test reports demonstrating compliance with customer test procedures.
• Assist Technical Support with existing installations and programs.
• Support new engine sales and upgrade proposals, including specification reviews and estimating engineering work.
