Project Engineer – Deployment Engineering – Natrium

Job Overview:

The Project Engineer – Deployment Engineering will play a key role in supporting the Site Design Engineering and Fabrication Engineering organizations by serving as the connective link between site engineering, fabrication engineering, and home office engineering activities. This position demands high organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to facilitate collaboration across different teams to ensure information flows efficiently between site and home office and that issues are tracked to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• RFI Tracking and Management:
  • Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs) originating from site engineering and fabrication engineering, ensuring timely routing, response, and closure.
  • Where site or fabrication teams are not resourced to manage RFIs directly, serve as a support organization by routing and integrating RFI tracking on their behalf.
  • Monitor RFI status and forecast adherence to response commitments to ensure timely resolution.
• Home Office Interface:
  • Coordinate with home office engineering to pull required information, data, and documentation needed to support site and fabrication activities.
  • Serve as the bridge between home office and site, helping site and fabrication teams make sense of home office activities and how they affect site work.
  • Coordinate with site and fabrication engineering teams to track metrics and correspondence between organizations.
• NCR Tracking and Management:
  • Track Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) relevant to site engineering, monitoring status and driving actions to closure.
  • Coordinate with responsible engineering and quality organizations to ensure NCR dispositions are documented and actioned.
• Facilitation and Mitigation:
  • Lead efforts to facilitate site/home office handoffs by resolving bottlenecks and addressing process gaps.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to information flow and issue resolution by proposing corrective actions.
  • Set up structures for monitoring progress and tracking information flow and issue resolution across the site/home office boundary.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with site engineering, fabrication engineering, home office engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure all required data and documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Build relationships and establish trust across site, fabrication, and home office organizations to enable effective, ongoing collaboration.
  • Serve as a liaison between teams to streamline communication and resolve issues.
• Execution Support:
  • Contribute to the development of workflows to enhance efficiency and quality of information flow between site, fabrication, and home office.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Provide regular status updates and reports on RFI and NCR tracking, and on overall information‑flow health between site and home office.
• Maintain accurate records of coordination processes to inform decision‑making and future planning.
• Maintain outward‑facing tracking via Jira and Power BI tools.
• Manage action tracking related to site/home office coordination — driving actions to closure across the organization.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering, project coordination, or a related role.
• Cross‑organizational experience, with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
• Familiarity with TerraPower processes and procedures preferred.
• Proven ability to manage complex workflows and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish trust across organizations.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience working within cross‑functional teams.
• Not specific to nuclear industry experience; nuclear or related heavy industry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Jira, Power BI, and Confluence.

This position is subject to qualification requirements in accordance with ANSI/ANS 3.1. Candidates must meet the minimum education and experience criteria applicable to the role, including relevant nuclear industry experience where required. Verification of data will be part of the hiring process.
