Job summary

TerraPower in Bellevue, WA, is seeking a Reactor Core Component Delivery Engineer to own assigned reactor core components through design, fabrication, testing, delivery and commissioning. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or project engineering experience with complex systems.
  • Experience delivering hardware from design through fabrication and delivery.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct management authority.
  • Strong understanding of change management and configuration control.
  • Experience interpreting drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of reactor core components from design release through manufacturing, inspection, shipment and site delivery.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and PMO.
  • Develop and maintain integrated execution plans, schedules, milestones and risk registers.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables to support procurement, fabrication, inspections and testing.
  • Drive issue resolution via cross-functional decision-making and timely closure of actions.
  • Monitor supplier progress and conduct technical reviews and readiness assessments.
  • Track manufacturing performance and develop recovery plans with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure fabrication meets design, codes and quality requirements.
  • Lead readiness reviews and coordinate stakeholder alignment at milestones.
  • Develop leadership status reports and dashboards showing progress, risks and decisions.
  • Support contract execution by coordinating technical responses and reviewing submittals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, supplier performance and delivery methods.
  • Create and improve processes, procedures and guidance documents.

Reactor Core Component Delivery Engineer

The Component Delivery Engineer serves as the programmatic owner for assigned reactor core components throughout their lifecycle. This role bridges engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and project management to ensure complex components progress from design through fabrication, testing, delivery, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with exceptional program execution skills. They are comfortable integrating cross-functional teams, driving technical decisions, managing risk, and maintaining visibility into schedule, cost, quality, and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

As the delivery lead for assigned components, you will:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of assigned reactor core components from design release through manufacturing, inspection, shipment, and site delivery.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and PMO.
  • Contribute to the development and maintance of integrated execution plans, schedules, milestones, and risk registers for assigned components.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables required to support procurement, fabrication, inspections, testing, and acceptance.
  • Drive issue resolution by facilitating cross-functional decision making and ensuring timely closure of open actions.
  • Monitor supplier progress in coordination with Supply Chain through regular technical reviews, manufacturing readiness assessments, production meetings, and factory visits.
  • Track manufacturing performance, identify schedule risks, and develop recovery plans in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure component fabrication complies with applicable design requirements, codes, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Lead readiness reviews and coordinate stakeholder alignment at key project milestones.
  • Develop leadership status reports, dashboards, and presentations highlighting delivery progress, risks, mitigation strategies, and critical decisions.
  • Support contract execution by coordinating technical responses in coordination with Supply Chian, reviewing supplier submittals, and resolving commercial-technical interfaces.
  • Identify opportunities to improve execution processes, supplier performance, and component delivery methodologies.
  • Work to develop processes, procedures and guidance documents as assigned.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, project engineering, technical program management, or component delivery for complex industrial systems.
  • Experience managing technically complex hardware from design through fabrication and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate cross-functional teams without direct management authority.
  • Strong understanding of engineering change management and configuration control.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing documentation, and technical requirements.
  • Excellent project planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify program risks and proactively drive mitigation plans.
  • Experience working directly with external suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Jira, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting nuclear, aerospace, defense, energy, heavy industrial, or highly regulated manufacturing programs.
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, NQA-1, ISO 9001, or comparable quality systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, heat treatment, nondestructive examination, and final assembly.
  • Experience supporting first-of-a-kind (FOAK) product development or prototype hardware.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management experience.
  • Experience leading supplier technical reviews and factory acceptance testing.

Salary Range: $140,021 - $181,845

Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
