Job summary

Kiewit Power Constructors District is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project, leading a team of field and cost engineers. You will be the information conduit between the construction manager and the team for cost, revenue and cash flow data, while mentoring engineers on the project.

The role requires coordination across contract plans, scheduling, safety programs and cost projections; based out of Lenexa, KS with relocation/travel

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ work experience in construction or engineering.
• 2+ years' experience managing engineers.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of contract plans and specifications for assigned work.
• Inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures; take corrective actions.
• Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications and correct as needed.
• Develop and maintain the project master schedule with input from project management personnel.
• Manage document control and issue drawings; maintain document control log.
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Recommend better methods, staffing and procedural changes to improve operations.
• Act as managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects; supervise and train lower-level engineers.
