Job summary

Story Construction in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Project Engineer to join the project-planning team. You will help plan, execute, and complete construction projects, reporting to the Project Manager and coordinating with the on-site Superintendent.

This role requires a construction- or engineering-focused degree and relevant experience. The role involves estimating, bidding, submittals, scheduling, and close-out activities, with occasional travel to sites across Siouxland.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree with 2 years of relevant construction experience or equivalent.
• 4-year degree preferred in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Drug test and physical examination required as contingency for employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pursuits, preconstruction activities including estimating and bidding.
• Understand contract documents and estimates.
• Communicate project status with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders as assigned.
• Assist with schedule of values, monthly pay apps, and payment approvals.
• Manage submittal process and ensure alignment with production schedule.
