Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain via comity within six months.
• Thorough knowledge of civil engineering design, construction, and survey methods.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and ability to prepare plans and specifications.
• Experience leading public works projects and coordinating with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist City Engineer in directing the Engineering Division.
• Design streets, water systems, and sewer systems.
• Supervise CIP, private development, and construction projects.
• Supervise preparation of construction plans and related documents.
• Address citizen concerns and complaints.
• Prepare plans, estimates, inspections and contract documents for major projects.
• Direct study and design of a variety of municipal improvements.
• Lead research and compile comprehensive reports.
• Occasionally perform duties outside of normal classification during emergencies.
