AlphaGov is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support commercial electrical construction projects through documentation, procurement, scheduling, and field coordination. You will work closely with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and design professionals to keep projects organized and moving forward.

This role offers hands-on experience across all phases of commercial electrical construction, with a pathway toward Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager positions

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction, project engineering, or electrical project coordination.
• Experience with a commercial electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor preferred.
• Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and construction workflows.
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement tracking, and project scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, contracts, and construction schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction software such as Procore or Bluebeam.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Support project managers with daily project planning, execution, and coordination.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, transmittals, and procurement documentation.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts to verify scope and identify design discrepancies.
• Coordinate with field crews, suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, and internal project teams.
• Track material orders, delivery schedules, equipment availability, and long-lead items.
• Assist with monitoring schedules, expenses, budgets, billing, and cost forecasts.
• Participate in site visits and project meetings, document key decisions, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Work with estimating and BIM/VDC teams on constructability reviews, design coordination, and material planning.
• Maintain accurate project records, drawings, correspondence, meeting minutes, and progress reports.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, purchasing, commissioning, punch lists, and final handover.
• Identify and elevate potential delays, budget concerns, material shortages, and coordination issues.
• Help ensure project activities meet contractual requirements, technical standards, quality, and safety procedures.

We are looking for someone with a background in construction or electrical project coordination who can work closely with our project managers and field teams, as well as subcontractors and design professionals, to keep projects organized and moving forward.

• Experience with healthcare, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or industrial projects is a plus
