Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction, LLC is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Engineer in Bethesda, MD. You will work with the project team to oversee technical and engineering aspects, coordinating with clients, trade partners, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate planning, scheduling, forecasting, and execution.

Your duties include assisting with procurement, developing schedules, managing changes, and leading closeout processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year of internship experience in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Manager and Assistant PM on procurement: scoping and take-offs.
• Prepare and submit submittals per plans and specs.
• Support developing and updating project schedules and detailed subcontractor schedules.
• Lead the development and refinement of project plans.
• Monitor and expedite material deliveries to align with schedule.
• Review change proposals from trade partners and negotiate as needed.
• Coordinate drawings with PM and Superintendent.
• Draft change orders, solicit pricing from subs/suppliers, and perform take-offs for costs.
• Lead project closeout: manuals, warranties, final payment docs.
• Develop and conduct training sessions for team and trade partners.
• Manage document control applications.
