Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction in Bethesda, MD seeks a Project Engineer for Summer 2027 graduates. You will oversee technical aspects of a commercial construction project, coordinating with clients, trade partners, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate planning, scheduling, and high-quality results throughout the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate on procurement, submittals, and schedule development, while assisting in change management, project closeout, and team training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year of internship experience in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager on procurement activities, including scoping and take-offs.
• Prepare and submit submittals, ensuring compliance with plans and specs.
• Assist in developing and updating project schedules and detailed schedules for subcontractors.
• Lead the craft of project plans and scheduling.
• Monitor material deliveries to align with the project schedule.
• Review change proposals from trade partners and negotiate as needed.
• Coordinate drawings with the PM and Superintendent.
• Draft change orders and solicit prices from subs and suppliers.
• Participate in project closeout, warranties, and final payment documents.
• Develop training for team and trade partners.
• Manage document control applications.
