Job summary

Afinitas is seeking a Design Engineer for the Engineering and Quality Group in the United States. The role focuses on engineering products that meet contract, performance, and quality requirements, reviewing plans, and developing designs with calculations and reports.

Required are 2–5 years of design experience and a BA/BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. The position involves communications with diverse stakeholders and field supervision on installations where needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a Design Engineer role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (BA/BS).
• Strong ability to interpret and communicate contract documents and perform engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Engineer products to meet contract, performance, and quality requirements.
• Review contract plans and applicable specifications.
• Develop designs with engineering calculations and reports.
• Create RFIs to facilitate design processes.
• Communicate design information to detailers for shop drawings.
• Evaluate as-built conditions vs. design parameters.
• Interact with owners, engineers, inspectors, and contractors.
• Provide customer supervision for installation as required.
